Annual Coachella Music Festival, What You Need To Know!

By: Addison Cunningham

Coachella 2024 took place on April 12-14 and 19-21. Coachella is a famous annual music festival that takes place every April. It takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Coachella first began in Oct. 1999, 24 years ago!

Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen founded Coachella for music fans to enjoy all different types of musical artists from all over the world in one place, since concerts can be expensive and hard to travel to.

The event is also all ages! Children under five are even free.  It is mostly popular for teenagers and young adults.

The lineup of different artists and performers have always been different as the years come and go. Some of the most famous that have performed in the past are Madonna, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z and so many more.

This year the line up had a variety of artists and some of the most popular and exciting of this generation.

This year the Coachella lineup featured artists like Tyler the Creator, Lana Del Rey, Deftones, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja cat, Ice spice, Suki Waterhouse, and more.

There are several online influencers and social media stars that attend Coachella and make videos and blogs about their experiences there.

Tickets for the event can be just as expensive as some of the artists, and can start at almost $500.

Students at Sandia say it was fun to “watch Coachella from afar” and hope that one day they get to see it for themselves.

Freshman, Mia Garcia, said that if she were to go to Coachella the first artist she would see is Tyler The Creator.

Coachella truly has something for everyone and their music taste!
