How to help your anxiety!

Stress and Anxiety is something that many students struggle with.
Lots of things can cause anxiety in students like; a lack of self esteem in students, homework, home and personal life and much more, depending on the student and how students lifes can vary and change from day to day.
Anxiety becomes even more common as students get older such as the jump from middle school to high school. Some students at Sandia say that almost everyone they know has anxiety and that it is very common.
Students all deal with anxiety differently as different methods of managing anxiety work for different students. A Freshman at Sandia who would like to remain Anonymous says that “talking with someone through anxiety” is the best way she finds to manage it.
There are many common ways students can deal with stress and handle their anxiety that help them. Start with identifying the reason you may have anxiety and the root of your stress levels. Talk yourself through your anxiety and notice the best and most efficient ways to handle it. Develop breathing techniques and notice how your breathing can change when your anxiety level starts to rise.
Find and discover the best ways that work for you, whether it be journaling or talking with someone! Make sure that you deal with your anxiety in a healthy and positive way!
